The Continental ExtremeContact DW Tuned is a high performance summer tire manufactured for performance passenger and sport utility vehicles.The tire has first-rate summer weather traction thanks to its high grip silica-based tire compound and the tread pattern that grips the road well in dry and wet weather. The tire is not suited for winter weather driving as the tire compound loses its excellent road gripping ability in winter conditions. The tread pattern, with the circumferential grooves, increases the wet weather traction and lower the chances of hydroplaning by eliminating water from below the tire. In this manner the tire offers extra safety in wet and dry conditions.The tread also features Tuned Performance Indicators. The letters DW are visible on the second tread rib from the outer shoulder.
